Entellan® New: Properties & Usage

Replacing DPX (Depex), which is no longer made in Australia. Dissolved in xylene, a combination of several synthetic resins makes Entellan® New, a particularly rapid embedding agent. It can be used for all dehydrated microscopic preparations. Embedded preparations can be filed for years without changes occurring in their colour. Constant properties ensure its high quality.

Use:

Cover the object with drops of Entellan® New, filling the space between the cover glass and slide. Cover glass must be sealed to all edges. Excess can be removed using a tissue moistened with xylene.

For histological and cytological preparations use xylene as the final stage before embedding, since alcohol may cause clouding.

Entellan® New, as with other embedding agents, should be used in a fume hood or other well-ventilated area.

Note:

Recap the bottle immediately after use. Should Entellan® New become to viscous, it can be brought back to the desired consistency by adding xylene. Store at room temperature.
